Zoo & Nicos

Someone is very exciting to go to the zoo!!

 

We met up with Courtney at the zoo, but we were about 30 minutes late.  So when we got there....we couldn't seem to catch up for awhile.  We kept texting each other to see where we were.  First she was by the front gates, but we had to get our tickets...so she moved on to the penguins....we got in and headed to the penguins, but then she was at the elephant statues...Kate wanted to see the penguins of course and by the time we got to the elephant statues....

(and of course Kate wanted to get the most out of them.)

They had moved on to the giraffes.....

but we finally caught them there.

The new part of the Dallas Zoo is pretty fantastic.  You are at the giraffe's height so when they walk up, you can pet them and be up close and personal! Kate loved it!

Did I mention that it was Megan and Liam's first trip to the zoo?

Kate also had a lot of fun on the safari jeep.  I guess sometimes the back part of the jeep can be occupied by a real lion.....since the jeep is split in half by glass/plastic (whatever it is that protects us from predators).  

And for whatever reason, this cricket was more fascinating than any animal we saw at the zoo!

These wild pigs were kind of fun too.

Great day at the zoo Kate?  YES!

We returned home and later went to Nicos.  I put together a few videos of my very cute kiddos.  Enjoy!

Family Art

Above is a picture that Kate drew at school.  It is her family as you can see, "Mom, Dad, Sistre (sister), Butr (Brother)" and she included her school friend "Eamen (Eamon)" because as she told me, "I love him". I guess she's not in the picture?

Here is a picture of her family "on vacation in Hawaii" I guess that's a hint!!

Bedtime Fun

Couldn't resist photographing Megan's mohawk after her bath this evening! Wish the pictures weren't so blurry!

And as you can see, the babies are sitting up so well now!

Below you will see Megan exploring Liam's face and he just accepts it.  I was a little worried that she'd poke his eyes, but heck...a few months ago, they had no one to break up their poking each other

Flexible Foot Phone

Kate and dad talked on Kate's "foot phone".  Below you can see a video of their conversation. Kate got to go to two birthday parties today, I took her to Emma's and Mike took her to Jack and Kate Harlans.  Additionally she had a soccer game this morning against the Lions. This girl keeps us on the move!

 

And below is a edited video of some of Kate's soccer game.  Sometimes she's on, and sometimes she's a bit put out.  My favorite is when she gestures that she has her eye on the ball.  ;)

 

Still In the Boot

 

This has definitely made taking care of 6 month old twins and a four year old, well....chanllenging.  I've been done with the crutches for awhile, but have to keep the boot on.....even in the house, which makes me sick.....I can't stand shoes in the house.  

Joslynn Is Hired!

Both babies say, "Mama" and "Dada" (especially "Dada") but we all agree that they mean nothing in terms of who their parents are.  We'll get there, and for now, it's just nice to hear them say it!

Also around this time, we went ahead and hired Joslynn to be my helper! (Sorry no picture of her until end of the month I think....) I don't have the exact date, but she started right away and things have worked out so well that writing this EIGHT months later.....she's still with us and a tremendous help!  What a fabulous decision on my part!  She had been wonderful with my children and helps in a multitude of ways.  I trust her and can count on her.  Thank you Joslynn!!

New Helping Hand?

Today I had Physical Therapy for my shoulder (yet another problem I've been having lately) and I also had a working interview with Joslynn.  I was really happy with her and we got along so well.  She was fantastic with the kids and I am very hopeful!  I do have a few more interviews, so we shall see.

Marty The Magician

Marty the Magician is becomeing a fast favorite night out with Kate.  Tonight it was just me and Kate and we had a great time and were very entertained by marty.  See video below.

 

On the way home we could see a pretty fierce storm headed south towards us.  I edited the video to just be the lightning strikes.  Photos and video never do a lightning show justice.  But right after we got home, LOTS of rain and thunder!  Loved my night out with Kate!
